Warning is issued in Galtellì for the Cedrino River following heavy rains over the last 24 hours and strong winds that have affected the area.
The mayor, Franco Solinas, launched an urgent warning , also spread through social media, to report the significant increase in discharges and the first floods in the lowest and most critical areas .
"Urgent warning – risk of river flooding. Overnight," Solinas wrote, "discharges into the river have increased significantly. In the most critical and low-lying areas, it is starting to overflow . We are preparing gates and closing roads and assessing the situation at the mouth. We urge everyone not to stop along the river and to stay away from high-risk roads. Thank you for your cooperation. Stay updated on our channels," the mayor announced.
The Municipality is working to secure the most exposed areas and constantly monitor the situation. Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution and follow official guidelines only, avoiding unnecessary travel . The alert remains high pending improved weather conditions.
