A night of fire erupted on the streets of Decimoputzu. Mayor Antonio Munzittu's car was damaged in a fire overnight: it was parked under the mayor's residence.
It is still unclear whether it was an intentional act or whether the causes were accidental.
However, another vehicle was certainly set on fire at the same time. And, according to leaks, the vehicle was owned by a resident who may be connected to a very recent news story reported in the village in recent days. "If the arson that damaged Antonio Munzittu's car is confirmed, on behalf of all Sardinian local administrators, I want to express our firm condemnation and solidarity for this extremely serious act. Mayors represent a bastion of legality in our local communities, and it is unacceptable that they should be the victims of cowardly acts of intimidation." This is what Ignazio Locci, president of the CAL (Council of Local Authorities), said.
