The splendid 2-year-old German Shepherd Ozzy Dei Rossomori, awarded the title of “Best subject born and raised in Sardinia”, belongs to Matteo Zoroddu of Onanì.

Ozzy, Django for his owner, comes from the Rossomori kennel of Davide Pala who has been involved in selective breeding of the German Shepherd Dog breed for over thirty years. Winner of various competitions on the island circuit, he boasts a very respectable pedigree, son of Diablo by Aurelius Victor and the Italian Enci champion mare, Charlotte dei Rossomori.

The splendid 2-year-old German Shepherd was awarded the trophy named after the dog expert Giovanni Dedola, a pioneer of the German Shepherd in Sardinia. A fundamental requirement to secure the trophy is that the dogs must be born and raised in Sardinia. For the Rossomori kennel, this is the third title won.

Django, this is the name given by the owner Matteo Zoroddu, during 2024 has accumulated a series of points during the dog events held throughout the year and organized by the Italian association that deals with the cataloging of dog breeds present in the national territory and the organization of events related to dog sports. Formally, the award ceremony is postponed to the first event of 2025, when the owner and the dog will be physically given the trophy.
