Alghero Initiative proposes another idea to improve the city.
Following the new parking lots, the Balaguer restyling, and the recycling centers, the association is focusing on traffic, which remains a critical issue in Alghero, with tortuous connections and slowdowns, especially in the Via Don Minzoni area.
The ongoing work, explains President Francesco Sasso, is highlighting the limitations of the road network, while the new ring road, being external, will not solve the problems within the neighborhoods.
For this reason , a new straight artery is proposed between Via Vittorio Emanuele and Via Azuni , with two roundabouts (one already existing) to improve traffic flow, eliminate traffic lights and increase safety.
The project, planned within the cemetery buffer zone, in an area not open to private development, would be easier to implement and would ease traffic on Via Aldo Moro, Via degli Orti, and Via Galileo Galilei, improving circulation in the northern quadrant of the city.
