The awards ceremony, which took place yesterday in Porto Rotondo, also marks the end of the 25th edition of the Premio Navicella Sardegna , which saw the multi-instrumentalist Gavino Murgia from Nuoro, the scientist and pathologist Patrizia Farci from Cagliari, the former captain of the Italian national basketball team, Luigi “Gigi” Datome from Olbia, and Giuseppe Ledda from Macomere, professor of Italian literature at the University of Bologna and one of the leading experts in Dante studies, parade on the stage of the Mario Ceroli amphitheatre.

Also receiving the award were journalist and RAI correspondent Laura Cappon, originally from Guspini ; singer and disco queen Amii Steward , who has called Gallura, near Porto Cervo, home for twenty years; and Mario Tozzi : the popularizer and television host, who often discusses Sardinia in his programs, received the special Olimpia Matacena prize, awarded to personalities from the world of communications. The silver boats, designed and crafted by Cagliari-based goldsmith Bruno Busonera and inspired by the famous Nuragic bronze statuette, are awarded annually to Sardinian personalities, whether born or adopted, who have brought prestige to the island at the national and international level.

The evening, organized by the " Sardegna Oltre il Mare " association and hosted by journalist Egidiangela Sechi, featured actor Daniele Monachella and the Sardinia Chamber Orchestra conducted by maestro Simone Pittau. Also in attendance were Franco Cuccureddu, Regional Councilor for Tourism, Crafts, and Commerce; Sabrina Serra, Deputy Mayor of Olbia; and Admiral Enrico Pacioni, Commander of the Italian Navy's Western Autonomous Maritime Command in Cagliari. The awards ceremony will be broadcast in full on Saturday, September 19th, on Videolina, starting at 9:00 PM.
