The air territorial continuity between Piedmont and Sardinia is the theme of the meeting scheduled for Saturday, November 23 in Turin, at 9:30, in the spaces of the Urban Lab in Piazza Palazzo di Città . The event, the first of a series of meetings, was organized by Fasi with the contribution of the Sardinian club "Quattro Mori" of Rivoli and the Association of Sardinians in Turin "Antonio Gramsci".
«The air connections between Piedmont and Sardinia», explains the president of the Federation of Sardinian Associations in Italy Bastianino Mossa , «represent a bridge of constitutional rights and opportunities for the economic, cultural and social development of two regions with a common past, present and, hopefully, future».
Those born in Sardinia and resident in the city of Turin alone are over 12 thousand , according to more recent data, joined by children and grandchildren of twentieth-century emigration who have reached the fourth generation, students and workers living away from home, for a total of about 70 thousand people. If we broaden our gaze to the belt of Turin and other centers of Piedmont, the numbers rise to those of a large city in Sardinia. A large community that claims a reliable and efficient territorial continuity .
Bastianino Mossa himself will take part in the debate, opening the proceedings in the presence of Alberto Cirio, President of the Piedmont Region, and Barbara Manca, Councilor for Transport for the Sardinia Region. After the institutional greetings of the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Turin, Jacopo Sullo, and Deputy Mayor Michela Favaro, the proceedings will continue with a round table moderated by Matteo Mereu and Giovanni Marche, representatives of organized emigration, with the participation of Salvatore Deidda, President of the Transport Commission at the Chamber, Gaetano Intrieri, CEO of Aeroitalia, Tonino Mulas, CEO of Eurotarget Servizi, the agency serving the members of the Fasi clubs, Carlo Chiama, Provincial Director of Confesercenti of Turin, and the municipal councilors of Cagliari and Alghero, Carlo Serra and Enrico Bachisio Daga. Also present were the former Mayor of Alghero Mario Bruno, Antonio Moro, former regional councilor for Transport, Alberto Re, president of the 4th District of Turin and Sebastiano Tettei, coordinator of the North-West Circles of Fasi. Among the speakers was Francesco Pongiluppi, originally from Cagliari, now a professor at the University of Turin and promoter of a document approved by the City Council of the Piedmontese capital and a petition on the theme of the development of territorial continuity: «Both Sardinia and Piedmont need a continuous connection to respond to the needs of those who, for health, work, family and study reasons, travel today among a thousand difficulties in one direction or the other . Developing a two-way tourism and enhancing the material and immaterial heritage of these two regions is a necessity that can no longer be postponed, given the numbers and the unexpressed potential, due to a short-sighted and anachronistic isolation».
