Serious accident on the Sassari-Olbia highway, at the Enas junction.
Two cars were involved in a collision that left one injured. A seventy-two-year-old man is in critical condition, intubated, and transported by 118 to the intensive care unit at the nearby Olbia hospital.
The transfer to Sassari was rejected because the injured man was deemed unable to make the journey to Santissima Annunziata.
It's possible the elderly man suffered a sudden illness, which led to the accident. Three others were also injured in the crash, but their conditions are not life-threatening.
The traffic police and firefighters responded to the scene. The road towards Sassari was closed to allow for surveys and rescue operations.
