Francesco Pintus, 47, originally from Sorgono but resident in Quartu, is in intensive care at Brotzu Hospital, with his prognosis remaining reserved. He was involved in the four-vehicle accident yesterday afternoon on the new State Road 125, near Geremeas, in the Maracalagonis area.

Of the eight injured—two were children—Pintus was the most seriously injured. He was airlifted to Brotzu Hospital, where he underwent two critical emergency surgeries to try to save his life. It's possible he may need further operations, depending on his condition. The situation is considered extremely delicate.

According to the reconstruction of the incident by law enforcement officers who arrived on the scene, near the Geremeas exit, a head-on collision occurred, triggered by a vehicular invasion, followed by a double collision by two other oncoming vehicles. A tangle of wreckage remained on the asphalt, where emergency responders from Sinnai, Villasimius, and Cagliari, along with a firefighter team, worked . Three other people were issued red codes, but none of the other injuries are believed to be in danger of dying.
