A strike has been postponed in Sassari for workers at Sassari Ambiente scarl, the company that provides urban waste management services in the city. In recent days, the 270 employees unanimously voted not to call for a strike yet.

Instead, it was decided to leave open the dispute-reduction procedure, initiated two weeks ago by Fp Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Fiadel, and the RSU (union of workers) because the reported critical issues persist, from the lack and dilapidation of vehicles to the "unacceptable" conditions of the changing rooms, to the problems with shift scheduling.

The workers, however, preferred to wait before assessing whether the requested improvements had been implemented. A new meeting is scheduled for July 15-19 at Via Ariosto, the headquarters of the Environment Department, between representatives of the company, the Municipality, and the social partners. The outcome of this meeting could determine whether or not to launch the mobilization.
