The Tempio City Council today definitively approved the Urban Planning Scheme . The vote by the Tempio Civic Assembly concluded a process that had lasted nearly 15 years. The technical recommendations from the regional offices were fully implemented. The adoption and approval process began under Mayor Romeo Frediani.

Expansion zones are minimized (one is planned along the Limbara River and a few others will be reconnected with the urban fabric). New developments are planned to improve existing structures. There will be no subdivisions in the San Pasquale area (the Tempio district near the sea). Areas at risk of hydrogeological and landslide hazards (Custaglia) and those most suitable for new production facilities have been identified and surveyed.

Anna Paola Aisoni, Councilor for Urban Planning and Deputy Mayor, explains: " We managed to obtain a more flexible assessment from the Region regarding building indexes , considering Tempio's tradition. I'm referring to agricultural areas. The countryside has always been inhabited and protected. Overall, I can say it's a historic day; Tempio finally has its own Urban Planning Scheme (PUC). This opens up important opportunities for the city's development. I began working on the Plan when I was in opposition, and then, as Councilor, I followed all the technical discussions. Now we have an extremely valid planning tool."

In agricultural areas, it will also be possible to build on one-hectare lots, in areas where this is possible.
