A major blow for the center-left in Tempio Pausania ahead of the upcoming elections for the city council. The secretary of the Democratic Party (PD) branch in the city, Marina Tamponi, announced in a lengthy Facebook post that the conditions for submitting a center-left list with her candidacy for mayor were not met . Tamponi had been identified as the key figure for the Democratic Party-led list during a public meeting.

But now she has lifted the veil, ruling out her candidacy. In the memo, Marina Tamponi mentions significant feedback among members and supporters for a center-left list, but initial interest has not been followed by concrete actions and actions consistent with the desire to realize the project. One of the most significant passages in the memo is this: "Above all , there has been considerable difficulty on my part in finding candidates . The reasons for this, in some cases, stem from the continued perception of a divided center-left, a perception also fueled by the decision of a well-known local representative of the Italian Left, who was also a center-left candidate for mayor in the previous elections, not to collaborate with the progressive camp's project and instead to support the mayoral candidate from another list, despite the latter having members of the Brothers of Italy party within the list."

A controversial passage involving Italian Left representative Nicola Comerci. Tamponi also resigned from his position as secretary, declaring: "I am leaving, knowing I have done my best and worked in good faith for the common good. I hope to pass the baton to someone who can carry out the role with renewed energy and greater strength."
