Even in the center of the island there is a significant drop in temperatures, but at the moment there are no critical issues reported on the main mountain roads of Barbagia. The snow is holding up only on the peaks of Gennargentu, while there has been no snowfall along the main roads.
As a preventive measure, the snow plan was activated, with the intervention of salt spreaders on the state road 389 Nuoro-Lanusei. Rain and sleet occurred in various areas, but did not cause particular problems for road traffic. No critical issues were recorded on the state road 131, at the height of the Campeda pass.
The Nuoro Highway Police still invites drivers to be extremely cautious, especially during the night hours and because of the wind that in some areas could make driving more difficult. It is recommended to travel with safety systems on board , such as snow chains or winter tires, to deal with any emergencies.
