Technical failure on the Lufthansa plane that was supposed to leave for Munich from Cagliari this evening at 6:30 pm: no take-off, flight cancelled and passengers at home (those who are Sardinian and were able to return) or in a hotel.

The plane was on the runway at Mario Mameli. Everything seemed to be in order but the wait at the boarding gates – those who were supposed to leave had arrived well before 5:30 p.m. – got longer and longer.

Concerns increased until, around 18:30, the official communication arrived: connection cancelled due to a technical fault. No further explanations were provided.

Those who intended to reach Germany were forced to leave the airport, waiting for a possible re-routing. Many had to look for a place in a hotel: until late in the evening they did not even know if the additional expenses could be reimbursed.
