SUV vs. Motorcycle in Olbia, a Driver in Reserved Prognosis

The 50-year-old Roman motorcyclist who was the victim of a road accident in Olbia this afternoon is hospitalized in serious conditions in the Neurosurgery department of the hospital in Sassari. The man suffered a head injury. His motorcycle collided with a Toyota SUV in the area of Su Trambuccone, a town on the outskirts of the Gallura city.
According to the Local Police findings, the man's motorcycle ended up in the path of the Toyota SUV that was traveling in the opposite direction. The head-on collision was violent and the motorcycle was thrown toward an embankment. First aid was provided by the person driving the SUV. The 118 staff requested the intervention of the Helicopter Rescue Service and the Roman motorcyclist was transferred by helicopter to the civil hospital in Sassari. The prognosis is reserved.
The Local Police of Olbia, led by Commander Giovanni Mannoni, is checking whether the man was registered for a motorcycle race that is taking place in Olbia. The rider could have been the victim of the accident during a test or during the transfer phase.
