A work that seems more real than life , leaving tourists stunned. On Balai beach, on the Porto Torres coast , a Caretta caretta sea turtle was placed, created by artist Angelo Masala, a passionate sculptor who, with his magical hands, created a composition of stones giving shape to the animal, with the detail of the eyes of Saint Lucy, amulets so called according to Sardinian tradition.

The sculpture deceived bathers, due to its beauty and shape, confusing them with a real turtle that lays its eggs three metres from the shoreline .

"I've had this sculpture for some time, and today I wanted to make an impromptu display to enhance Balai beach, which is always crowded but deserves to be more beautifully decorated," said the sculptor, a 73-year-old artist known for his exhibitions of sculptures that symbolize the identity of Porto Torres, its traditions, and its beauty .

This morning, the idea was to give a pleasant surprise to beachgoers, tourists, and locals, who immortalized the "living" symbol of the Caretta caretta turtles swimming in the sea of the Gulf of Asinara.
