Sardinian healthcare reform postponed to September. «But how do they think hospitals can move forward in this shocking August? The city's emergency rooms are overrun, including by people arriving from Carbonia, Oristano, Nuoro, and around 20 percent of the 130 daily patients have to be hospitalized. Covid has started to spin again; the medical departments are exploding and the Oss are missing. Medicine in the area is absent." The alarm comes from the regional secretary of the Anaao Assomed white coat union Susanna Montaldo.
Meanwhile, no health company is able to respect the time allowed for "deferrable" appointments (30 days for visits, 60 days for diagnostic tests). For a first cardiological visit the average is three and a half months; endocrinological of three; ophthalmology just under 4 months; pneumology about five and a half months.
For an MRI of the abdomen you have to wait 468 days; for a mammogram 119 days; for an electrocardiogram the regional average is 111 days.
