"No to offshore wind turbines, give us back our sea." This is the slogan of the fishermen of Sant'Antioco and Calasetta who held a demonstration this morning in the lagoon city's port.

The environment and fishing are the two elements for which they are ready to undertake sensational actions.

"We were prepared for a 30-day biological shutdown, until October 30th. Instead, on the 29th, another decree was issued extending the shutdown," attacks Giovanni Mallus, spokesperson for the protest, "and they're not paying us: the company isn't getting a cent. While the idled boats deteriorate, contributions are being paid. And the expense is doubled, because we have no income."

Looking toward the horizon, the shadow of the turbines is lengthening: "When they build them, we won't be able to fish in vast expanses. If they want to eliminate us, let them say so clearly."
