The suicide of Enrico Bacciu, a sensational turn of events: the Tempio Prosecutor's Office orders the exhumation of the body

After having twice requested the dismissal of the investigations, the Tempio Prosecutor's Office sensationally reopens the case of Enrico Bacciu.

The man, involved in a major drug trafficking investigation (he would have been the boss of a gang active in Olbia and the Peninsula), was found dead in an apartment in Porto San Paolo on 4 March 2019. For the prosecutors it is suicide, but now the Gallura Prosecutor's Office itself has ordered the exhumation of Bacciu's body and new autopsy investigations, entrusted to the medical examiner Salvatore Lorenzoni.

The history of Enrico Bacciu's suicide could be rewritten at this point. The investigating judge of Tempio, Caterina Interlandi, had ordered a new investigation into what happened in 2019, accepting the requests of the lawyers Fabio Varone and Salvatore Meloni, lawyers of the victim's mother, Giuseppina Capra. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has at its disposal the documents of the investigations of the Cagliari DDA which tell a piece of the story. Bacciu, 38, according to the prosecutors of the Anti-Mafia District, was the head of the Gallura branch of a gang of drug traffickers who operated in Olbia, Campania and Lazio.

There is talk of relationships with Camorra clans and with Roman criminal circles, which appear in the investigation into Fabrizio "Diabolik" Piscitelli (head of the Lazio ultras, killed in 2019). The person who last saw Bacciu on 4 March 2019 said untrue things, the Carabinieri of Olbia and the Loiri Porto San Paolo station denied his version of events. Now the witness could be heard again. It is not enough. Bacciu's mother, Giuseppina Capra, found her son's grave smeared and placed a knife on the tombstone.

A genetic profile identical to that identified in artefacts found inside the room where Enrico Bacciu allegedly took his life is isolated on the blade. The exhumation is the first act of the new investigations.
