Success for Stintino Wine Festival, the event that - in the intentions of the organizers of Tenute Stintino and Alle Cantine - wants to be both a celebration of wine and a tribute to the passion and dedication of local producers in North West Sardinia. Today - again at Alle Cantine di Pozzo San Nicola - from 6 pm the final day. The opening night yesterday (August 23) immediately hit the mark and not only for the high turnout of the public: almost 1000 glasses distributed and over 2,500 wine tastings. The debate, which kicked off the event, recalled the spirit of the event that wants to represent an opportunity to celebrate the excellence of Sardinian wines, offering visitors the opportunity to taste the unique wines of the area and to discover, behind each bottle, the stories of the individual wineries. Seven are participating in this first edition: Tenute Stintino, Cherchi, Delogu, Confraternita del Moscato, Rossini, Tenuta delle Nereidi and Ledà.

It was Gian Mario Tosi, president of the Confraternita del Moscato (Sorso-Sennori) who moderated the debate, who highlighted the importance of the event organized in Pozzo San Nicola which aims to involve the territory of North West Sardinia – from Stintino to Valledoria – and promote the cellars and their products. After the greetings of the mayor of Stintino, Rita Vallebella, who recalled how the territory of Pozzo San Nicola is dedicated to the cultivation of vines and how the entrepreneurial activity carried out at Tenute Stintino and Alle Cantine can have a valuable impact and component for Stintino, it was the journalist Ilaria Guidantoni who led the audience on a journey dedicated to tasting techniques. Between glasses, correct grips, characteristics of wines, the Florentine journalist underlined how tasting is a subjective art that, like in a poem, allows you to tell different sensations in your own words. Antonio Nieddu of the Onav Sassari-Alghero delegation spoke about the terroir of North West Sardinia. The wines were therefore the real stars of the event: Vermentino di Sardegna and Vermentino di Gallura, then Cannonau and Cannonau rosé and again Moscati and Cagnulari. The wines accompanied the tastings of local products such as platters of cured meats and cheeses then plates of Sardinian gnocchetti with wild boar sauce and grilled roast suckling pig courses. The evening ended yesterday with music from the band Zeppara, with classics of Sassari music. Today Stintino Wine Festival will always open with a meeting with the experts. At 6 pm the journalist Ilaria Guidantoni will return and, this time, she will talk about wine and food pairings. At 6.45 pm it will be the turn of Paolo Govoni, former president and extraordinary commissioner of the Ferrara Chamber of Commerce, currently vice president of the Ferrara and Ravenna Chamber of Commerce. His task will be to explain the importance of the origin of DOC & DOCG and DOP products. The first edition will be greeted by the music of the local artist Beppe Dettori from Stintino. Also on the program are DJ sets, which will create the ideal background for an evening dedicated to taste and fun.
