From the Sardinia Region, a loan of 150 thousand euros intended for young migrants and children of families of foreign origin, with the aim - explains Councilor for Labor of the Council Solinas Ada Lai - of «preventing and limiting the risk of socio-cultural, economic marginalization and working."
The fund for the "strengthening and valorisation of young people with a migratory background" is foreseen as part of the Annual Immigration Program and was approved by the Regional Council on 6 April and, adds Lai, has as its objective the support of young foreigners so that they "reach full autonomy and can complete their studies, professional training and job placement".
The financial allocation, as mentioned, is equal to 150 thousand euros, drawn from regional resources. For each project proposal there is a maximum contribution of 25 thousand euros and a duration of no more than 12 months.
«The recipients of the projects are young people from abroad, or children of parents born in a third country. Applicants may submit their candidacy, individually or in association: immigrant or immigration assistance associations; voluntary or cultural associations, cooperatives, non-governmental organizations, non-profit organisations", explains Villa Devoto.
Funding applications relating to the project must be submitted exclusively according to the procedure indicated in the Notice and arrive by 1pm on 24 October 2023.
Just this morning, Councilor Lai spoke at the Sardinian Territorial Forum "The international challenges of Italian and Sardinian cooperation", organized by Casa Emmaus in Cagliari at Cesar's Hotel, «an opportunity for exchange and reflection on the theme of international cooperation and solidarity ».
«Sardinia – said Lai in his speech – has always been a welcoming and supportive land and confirms this through participation in international programs that contribute to the development of developing countries, with a view to mutual exchange. Cooperation, in fact, is the only tool for resolving problems related to migration issues. In fact, through the consolidation of the network of territorial partnerships, it is possible to build job placement paths for the native populations, reducing - concluded the councilor - the causes of migration and at the same time allowing Sardinian companies to invest in those territories".
