On Friday, May 29th at 7:00 PM, the Sala Filippo Canu in Porto Torres will host students from the Cristóbal Galán Academy of Early Music. Under the prestigious artistic direction and guidance of Maestro Alberto Sanna (first violin), they will join musicians from the associated academies in Nuoro, Olbia, Milan, and London, recently joined by the new Caltanissetta-based Early Music Youth Orchestra.

Admission is free. The musical program will offer an exciting journey through the Renaissance and Baroque periods, specifically designed to showcase a youth orchestra performing period instruments, from the grandiose Concerti Grossi of Arcangelo Corelli and George Frideric Handel to captivating Renaissance dances such as the celebrated "Ballo del Granduca." "The heart of the project, which the Dolci Accenti association has been passionately pursuing for six years, is its educational activities and its outreach and promotion," say the organizers. "A true social and cultural mission that this year will feature thirty-five young people. It's wonderful to see these young people—who have dedicated themselves for months, putting aside their cell phones and other distractions—finally ready to perform on a major stage."

The orchestral ensemble boasts a diverse mix of generations, from students from local music-focused middle schools and high schools to students from the Sassari Conservatory, along with a core group of five professionals serving as tutors and teachers. They will be joined on stage by exceptional teachers and performers such as Calogero Sportato (archlute, theorbo, and baroque guitar), Daniele Cernuto (baroque cello), and Andrea Lubino (period percussion). The second performance is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, at 7:00 PM, at the Teatro Civico in Sassari. Admission is free, but reservations are required. The event is part of the "Note senza Tempo" International Early Music Festival, organized by Dolci Accenti with the patronage and support of the Region of Sardinia and the Fondazione di Sardegna, and the municipalities of Sassari, Porto Torres, Alghero, Uri, and Castelsardo. The event is part of the “Salude&Trigu” network (VIII edition) of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by REMA (European Early Music Network).
