Weather warning for snow, wind, and storm surges in Sardinia .
The warning was issued by the regional civil protection agency due to the cyclone currently in the Mediterranean, which is gradually moving southward, entering Italy this evening and bringing with it cold air of polar origin.
"From late Friday evening until midday on Sunday the 11th, strong northwest winds are expected, reaching gale force strength on exposed coasts and ridges. These will extend from the northern part of the island to the rest of the region during the course of tomorrow," the bulletin states. Storm surges are also expected along exposed coasts .
The regional Civil Protection has also issued a weather bulletin warning of adverse snow conditions that will affect elevations above 800 meters.
