Stormy winds and storm surges are forecast in Sardinia, where the regional Civil Protection Department has issued a weather alert starting late this evening, March 25, and lasting all day tomorrow, Thursday, March 26.

The low pressure system associated with a North Atlantic cyclone will reach Italy in the next few hours, bringing with it cold polar air and favoring the development of strong winds, even gale-force winds, which will hit the island especially starting tomorrow.

Strong northwesterly winds, even gale force, are expected in the northern part of the island by late this evening, bringing storm surges along exposed coasts. These winds will spread across the entire island starting tomorrow, causing strong storm surges, particularly along the western coast.
