Fire in several areas, helicopters and Super Pumas in flightLe operazioni di spegnimento a Nulvi
Due to today's high temperatures, with peaks above 37.6 degrees, and due to the intense thunderstorm activity in northern Sardinia, several fires are raging, most of which started after lightning discharged all its energy to the ground .
Two in particular are the most challenging for the Forestry Corps teams.
The first broke out in Nulvi near state road 127 where helicopters are also responding.
The situation is more difficult in Luras . Here, the Forestry Corps is responding with the support of a helicopter from the Farcana operations base to a fire in Mount Toveddu, near the town. A witness reported seeing two lightning bolts in quick succession, followed by smoke. A Super Puma helicopter is operating in Mount Bianco, also in Luras , supported by a Canadair from Olbia and another helicopter.
To stop a fire in Ploaghe, in the San Martino area, the support of a Canadair from Trapani was necessary .
But they're not the only ones. A fire has also been reported in the Oristano area near Palmas Arborea (Mitza Ena). A helicopter was also called in to respond to this fire.
Another fire is raging in Fonni in the Caravai pass area.
