Weather warning issued for Sardinia due to the arrival of rain and thunderstorms.

The severe weather warning has been issued by the Civil Protection Department and will remain in effect at least until midday on Sunday, November 9th.

"Scattered rainfall, mainly thunderstorms, is expected across the island," the warning states, "with locally high cumulative rainfall. The rainfall will begin in the central and southern parts of the island and will subsequently extend to the eastern part. Severe and isolated thunderstorms are also possible."

The severe weather will also affect Cagliari and its hinterland . The Municipality has issued its usual statement, explaining that "the Cagliari area will also be affected by a yellow code alert - ordinary criticality due to hydrogeological risk and storms." It also highlights the areas of Pirri where parking should be avoided and recommends the safe parking area near the Terramaini municipal swimming pool on Via Pisano.
