Severe weather is set to continue in Sardinia until the end of October. The Civil Protection Department has issued a new yellow alert for hydrogeological risk and thunderstorms, valid until 6:00 PM tomorrow, Friday, October 31st. The warning applies to the entire island, except for the eastern parts.

"Over the western Mediterranean," an accompanying note states, "a low-pressure system is deepening with a surface low centered northeast of the Balearic Islands. This structure is associated with a cold front gradually approaching Sardinia."

This pressure configuration "will favor the advection of vorticity and humidity along the entire atmospheric column in the evening, with consequent worsening of meteorological conditions mainly in the western sector of our island."
