Stintino has raised the bar in environmental protection and has acquired its second plastic-free turtle . This achievement is a testament to the municipal administration and the community involved in various cleanup and landscaping initiatives along the coast and in the countryside.

Following the success achieved in 2025, Stintino continues to push forward, officially becoming a Plastic Free Municipality 2026, achieving the second level with two out of three turtles. This achievement confirms the growing commitment to protecting the area, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Maria Luisa Vallebella, Plastic Free representative and coordinator of activities, Councilor for the Environment Enrico Scano, and Mayor Rita Vallebella, who guided the Municipality toward this prestigious national recognition.

Mara Sanna, Councilor for Agriculture and Public Parks, was present to accept the award with the team. "This recognition is dedicated to all the citizens, the volunteers, and those who love Stintino," said Mayor Rita Vallebella. "This way, our commitment shines even brighter, because receiving the second turtle is an incentive to do even more for our sea and our coasts. Today, Stintino shines among the most virtuous municipalities in Italy."
