Two Carabinieri officers are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office for alleged stalking of a female soldier and, in the case of the officer, sexual assault . Following the complaint and the investigations conducted by the Investigative Unit, Public Prosecutor Marco Cocco requested a precautionary measure from the investigating judge (suspending them from service for six months). However, Judge Ermengarda Ferrarese rejected the request yesterday, deeming the woman credible.
The names of the two officers involved and under investigation cannot be released to protect the identity of the colleague who reported the alleged incidents of harassment and stalking, which allegedly occurred between September of last year and March of this year.
