Spouses killed on Via Ghibli, prosecutors say: "The son was acting out a prank; he killed them."

"I didn't kill my parents, I had no reason to do so." Claudio Gulisano once again proclaimed his innocence before the Cagliari Assize Court. The 44-year-old, accused of the double murder of his father Luigi Gulisano and his mother Marisa Dessì, aged 79 and 82, reiterated today during his examination before the judges, answering questions from his defense attorney and prosecutor Rosanna Allieri, that he was not responsible for the deaths of his parents, which occurred in December 2024 in their apartment on Via Ghibli, in the Quartiere del Sole district of Cagliari.
"I never thought of hurting them," Gulisano declared, "I had no reason. I was fine, they loved me, my daughter, and my wife. I had no problems." The defendant specifically contested the prosecution's reconstruction according to which his financial difficulties were behind the double homicide.
"They were giving me the money to pay my debts without any problem," he claimed before the judges. Gulisano then described his financial situation: "I own two houses, I have a paid-for car, and I've never used drugs." This reconstruction, with which the 44-year-old attempts to rule out the existence of a financial motive, is a testament to the motive.
The accusation's thrust
At the end of cross-examination, prosecutor Allieri pressed the defendant, recalling his actions on the morning the bodies were found. She asked why Gulisano, instead of immediately calling 911, had made bank transfers to himself and called the cell phones of his parents, whom he knew were dead. "This is a charade for one purpose," the magistrate retorted, "not because you don't know what to say, but because you're the one who killed them."
The other hearing
Already in the first hearing of the trial, Gulisano had admitted to having made "many mistakes" after finding, according to his version, his parents dead at home, adding that he regretted it, but he firmly rejected the main accusation: "I didn't kill them."
According to the Prosecutor's Office, however, it was the son himself who killed Luigi Gulisano and Marisa Dessì, who, according to the prosecution, were strangled and suffocated. The alleged motive is financial, linked to the defendant's financial difficulties.
The accusation
Gulisano faces charges of aggravated double homicide and computer fraud: he is accused of withdrawing approximately 20,000 euros from his parents' accounts through their online banking service.
