He was speeding at over two hundred kilometers per hour on a road where the speed limit on a rural road was 110. A heavy fine was imposed by the police during traffic checks in the Cagliari area.
The traffic police reported six drivers who tested positive for alcohol. Three of them were charged with driving under the influence. Two cases of driving under the influence of drugs were also confirmed: one driver tested positive for cannabis, while a second tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine. The checks focused primarily on the Saline seafront between Cagliari and Quartu.
These days, the State Police is working on prevention with the Blue Bus and the Mobile Laboratory to combat driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The awareness-raising activity began in Assemini, where specialized personnel from the Highway Police participated in the "I am also Civil Protection 2026" school camp, an initiative dedicated to spreading the culture of civil protection among young people, aimed at girls and boys between the ages of 10 and 13.
