Nearly 17,000 tickets are issued annually for violations detected by speed cameras on the 131 highway in Monastir, 3,000 of which involve foreign residents. This "avalanche" of fines prompted the Municipality to organize a new tender to manage the administrative fines.

"Monastir is located along one of the main roads in the Cagliari area and experiences daily traffic volumes far exceeding the resident population," emphasizes Mayor Paola Ugas.
