Italian swimming champions—Ginevra Taddeucci, Marcello Guidi, and Linda Caponi—once again experienced the wonderful sea of Asinara, a 5-kilometer training run in the waters of the National Park before the 7th Asinara Island Meeting.

The Italians will be featured alongside athletes from Canottieri Napoli and Livorno Aquatics, eleven swimmers who will participate in the event scheduled for this weekend in Porto Torres. Accompanied by the president of the Italian Swimming Federation of Sardinia and coaches Giovanni Pistelli and Pietro Bonanno, the eleven athletes participating in the 7th Asinara Island Meeting combined their excursion to the park with a 5-kilometer open-water training session.

Leading the group are some of the leading athletes such as Ginevra Taddeucci, Olympic bronze medalist at Paris 2024, four silver medals at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore and two gold medals and a silver medal at the 2026 European Championships in Paris. With her are Marcello Guidi, silver medalist at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore and silver medalist at the 2026 European Championships in Paris, and Linda Caponi, bronze medalist at the 2026 European Championships in Paris.

The three Italian athletes led the rest of the team through training in the crystal-clear waters of Asinara, amidst a particularly evocative natural setting. After the swim, the day continued with a visit to the main attractions of Asinara National Park. The athletes expressed great enthusiasm for the experience, being particularly impressed by the island's pristine nature, its landscapes, and the quality of its water.
