Very heavy rains in South Sardinia.
As announced by the yellow alert issued yesterday by the regional civil protection (in effect until midnight), downpours and floods have been affecting several countries since this morning.
The most consistent damages were recorded in Fluminimaggiore, Buggerru, Iglesias, Nebida and other small towns .
State road 126 “SudOccidente Sarda” was temporarily closed in both directions at km 64, in Fluminimaggiore , due to flooding caused by heavy rains. In particular, in Buggeru and Fluminimaggiore it is estimated that almost 100 mm of rain fell: various interventions by the firefighters, who are working on site with numerous teams.

The mayor of Iglesias, Mauro Usai, has convened the COC . «I have now brought together the municipal operations center for the monitoring and management of critical situations - writes the mayor who has just been re-elected on Facebook -. All our fellow citizens are advised to limit travel as much as possible, especially towards the hamlet of Nebida ».
Heavy rains were also recorded in Guspini , where about twenty millimeters of water fell.
