The water emergency has forced the mayor of Sorso, Fabrizio Demelas, to issue an urgent ordinance on limitations and temporary measures aimed at saving drinking water , necessary to address the serious shortage affecting the municipalities of North-Western Sardinia linked to the Temo-Bidighinzu reservoir system.

Based on the Regional Council's order declaring a state of emergency due to the risk posed by the ongoing water shortage in the region, the Mayor has ordered a ban on the use of drinking water from the municipal network for watering vegetable gardens and gardens; washing private vehicles, with the exception of car washes; washing yards, squares, and private roads; and filling and replacing ornamental fountains, swimming pools, and garden tubs. The order also encourages residents to adopt virtuous water-saving practices, specifically: checking the efficiency of the water system and checking for leaks, considering that a dripping faucet can waste up to 5 liters of water per day; and, if the water is not used for extended periods, turning off the mains water system and avoiding unnecessary water flow.

The measure is valid immediately until further notice due to the evolution of the water situation.
