Sorso is adorned with a new mural: the tree of life designed by Giorgio Casu.
The work is part of a project created to enhance traditions and cultureThe city of Sorso is beautifying one of its most picturesque corners. A large mural was unveiled yesterday on Via Marina. The work is part of the "Culture and Traditions: Destination Sorso" project, conceived by the municipal administration and part of the urban regeneration program being carried out by the Demelas administration.
The large Tree of Life was created by Giorgio Casu , aka "Jorghe," an internationally renowned contemporary Sardinian artist, painter, and designer. In 2010, he achieved global acclaim when his portrait of US President Barack Obama was exhibited at the White House, a work selected for a charity event in Washington.
The project was born to enhance traditions and culture in its broadest form. Art, in addition to being a tool for communicating emotions, with reference to the creation of murals, can serve a dual purpose within a territory: urban regeneration and tourism attraction, diversifying the tourist offering and expanding a city's potential.
