A man was reported by the Carabinieri for driving under the influence of alcohol , driving under the influence of drugs and resisting a public official, after a chase that began in Sennori and ended in a dead-end street in Sorso.

The military personnel of the Mobile Radio Unit of the Porto Torres company had set up a checkpoint along one of the main roads in the area, when they ordered a passing car to stop.

The driver, instead of stopping, accelerated sharply, starting a dangerous escape that put the safety of other road users at risk.

The chase ended shortly thereafter in a dead-end street in the center of Sorso, where the officers managed to block the vehicle.

The driver was immediately subjected to a breathalyzer test, which resulted in a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.

Not only that, but clinical tests later confirmed the presence of cocaine in his system.

After the investigation, the man was reported to the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office. His license was revoked and the vehicle was impounded.
