Two days ago, a brawl broke out in Sorso, resulting in nine Roma people being arrested. Today, the court in Sassari confirmed the arrest warrant for brawling and assault.

Before Judge Monia Adami, the Carabinieri who intervened recounted the various stages of the incident. It began with an altercation in Marina di Sorso with three individuals from a Roma family who allegedly attacked two others inside a van. The men, according to the charges, clung to the windows and attempted to attack the driver and passenger.

The underlying cause, which remains to be determined, appears to be sentimental. The driver allegedly zigzagged to get away from the trio, causing them to fall. The altercation, which involved other people, then escalated to town, where one of the people who fell from the van reported the incident to the police.

The judge granted the request of prosecutors Giovanni Caria and Giovanni Dore, confirming the arrests of seven of them—the other two are girls and will be tried tomorrow in Juvenile Court—and ordering them to remain in their respective areas, Marritza and Eba Frissa, also in the municipality of Sorso. The lawyers are Simona Pedde and Danilo Mattana for two of the arrested, members of one family. Salvatore Castronuovo is representing five others from the opposing family, plus the two minors.
