It has been held since 2015 (with interruptions due to Covid in 2020, '21 and '22) but this is only the third time that the SoloWomenRun coincides with March 8th.
In Cagliari, it can now be said that this is the true "Women's Day," which from 9:30 a.m. colors the city with a long fuchsia human chain, like the T-shirts that each of the sixteen thousand participants proudly wears.
Meet inside the Fiera with music from Radiolina, then head down Viale Diaz, Viale Bonaria, Viale Regina Margherita, Largo Carlo Felice, Via Roma (portico side), and back to Piazza Marco Polo. All streets will naturally remain closed to traffic until 1:00 PM.
The CTM bus routes are also changing, with the elimination of stops along the race route (for lines 1, 5/11, 6, 7, 8A, 10, 30R, 31R, M, PF and PQ), although two temporary stops will be set up on Viale Colombo for lines PF, PQ and 5/11.
The SoloWomenRun is a race (the 8.5 km competitive race with 200 athletes starts at 11 am) but above all a happening: the proceeds are returned by the organizers in the form of prizes to fund projects aimed at women.
