Solinas: «Restructuring the Brotzu is uneconomical»
The president of the Region: «Better to build new hospitals». And the stadium? "It's only fair that Cagliari have a home worthy of the re-conquered Serie A"The new stadium of Cagliari will be built, assures the governor Christian Solinas. «Together with the new hospitals, it is one of the works that must be carried out. It is right that Cagliari have a home worthy of the regained Serie A. But I think that together with the stadium, other issues must also be addressed. I cannot forget that I have to give answers to those in need of care, to students who have no accommodation and to the suburbs where people live in degradation», he explains in an interview with L'Unione Sarda.
President, you would like to build the new Cagliari hospital in Sant'Elia, right?
«Since 2019 I have asked the Municipality for an indication of what was the ideal location for this structure. Not having received an answer, I made a proposal based on one consideration: these are public areas, there would be no need for expropriations».
It's hard to imagine that hospital and stadium can coexist on the same grounds.
«The hospital can be built in any other area, as long as the Municipality of Cagliari undertakes to create the conditions for speedy construction».
In short: we need a far-reaching agreement with the Municipality. Meanwhile, the mayor is pressing for guarantees on the stadium's 50 million.
«I have given a mandate to the secretary general of the Region and to various managers to dialogue with the analogous structures of the Municipality to define an agreement on all the topics I have listed. These continuous declarations respond to a media need, while we are in active silence».
