This morning at 11:00 a.m., the autopsy begins at the Forensic Medicine Institute of Brotzu Hospital on the body of Michela Rubiu, the woman who died on Monday, 25 days after being shot in the head by her husband Alessandro Pintus outside his bar in Solanas.

The outcome of the expert examination, which could last several hours, could be useful in reconstructing the dynamics of the incident, the distance, and the position from which the man shot his wife, who received a single shot to the back of the head. These are all elements that could be relevant in the trial.

The investigation will be conducted by coroner Roberto Demontis, on behalf of Deputy Prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia, who is leading the investigation into the terrible events of July 23rd, when Alessandro Pintus allegedly attempted to run over a witness in Solanas with his car, then fatally shot his brother Andrea in their parents' home in Quartu that same morning. The suspect is charged with femicide, murder, and attempted murder.

Yesterday, the mayor of Sinnai, Barbara Pusceddu, issued an order declaring a day of mourning for the funeral (date and time yet to be determined) of Michela Rubiu. "A tragic case of femicide, a social scourge that," the order reads, "continues to affect women and profoundly wound the entire community."
