«Defining Giagoni on Facebook profiles as “the idiot from Santa Teresa di Gallura” has nothing political. You are trying to pass off insults to the person as sentences to be limited within a political intent."

This was reiterated today in the courtroom by the lawyer Salvatore Deiana during a new hearing in the trial in Tempio Pausania against Marco Michi, 70 years old, from Sassari, accused of having published phrases and insults on social media in 2019 against the Lega deputy Dario Giagoni and the then commissioner of the Northern League in Sardinia, Eugenio Zoffili.

The former regional representative was supposed to testify this morning, but due to commitments in Parliament he will be heard at the next hearing scheduled for November 22nd. Today, however, a witness from the prosecutor Franca Cabiddu and the civil party was heard , who confirmed that he had read the sentences written by Michi and then spoke about the political relationships and acquaintances he had with both Giagoni and the accused, at era of the League's militant events.

In 2019 there was a battle within Matteo Salvini's party in Sardinia over the choice of candidates for the political elections : in the end Dario Giagoni prevailed over his opponent Marco Michi. “The insults and offensive phrases towards him began to arrive immediately after this clash,” underlined the lawyer Deiana.
