Six decades of activity supporting film culture, with an immense archive now finding new life: this is how the Cineteca Sarda will celebrate its sixtieth anniversary with the presentation of the digital platform " Nara " on Friday the 18th , at the Fondazione di Sardegna in Via San Salvatore da Horta 2 in Cagliari . This project aims to transform the preservation and accessibility of audiovisual heritage through innovative and user-friendly methods.

Combining historical memory with digitization processes, the project created by director, editor, and audiovisual researcher Alessandro Gagliardo – with the invaluable collaboration of the Cineteca technicians – is described as " an archive of the future " that responds to the fundamental needs of research and public enjoyment, but also technological sustainability and copyright protection, with the aim of offering new tools for knowledge and consultation for the community : a purpose effectively stated in its name, taken from the Sardinian term meaning "tells."

The public launch of "Nara" will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, beginning with institutional greetings from Regional Councilor for Culture Iliaria Portas and her counterpart at the Municipality Maria Francesca Chiappe , together with the national president of the Società Umanitaria Alberto Jannuzzelli and coordinated by Antonello Zanda , director of the Società Umanitaria's Cultural Services Center in the capital. This will be followed by speeches by Monica Grossi , former superintendent of the archives of Sardinia, who will introduce the project entitled " Towards an audiovisual archive of Sardinia ," and then by Gagliardo himself, who will illustrate the platform in detail at its first public demonstration . The morning session will conclude with an open debate on the role of digital archives in preserving and enhancing the island's audiovisual memory.

The program will resume at 5.30 pm , with the screening of two works recovered and restored by the Cineteca, such as " Sassari immenso fiore di pietra " (1980) by Orsola Berardelli and " L'isola del carbone " (1952) by Romolo Marcellini , both presented by Luca Portas and Cristina Secci . The last appointment of the day is at 8 pm at the Teatro Adriano in via Sassari 16 , calling the spectators back to the theater for " Isura da filmà " (2013) by Marco Antonio Pani , in the company of the director himself.

All the meetings on September 18th will have free admission , with the sixtieth anniversary celebrations continuing on October 13th in the Foundation 's premises in Sassari , with the inauguration of the photographic exhibition dedicated to Fiorenzo Serra , and on October 23rd and 24th again in Cagliari , with the conference on the history of the Cineteca Sarda.
