€60 million for the road system of the Metropolitan City of Sassari. This morning, at the Provincial Palace in the Sassari capital, the allocations of the RAS and FSC funding were presented. According to Regional Councillor for Public Works Antonio Piu, "the funding has never been allocated in the last 30 years." "Fifty out of 66 municipalities are affected," stated Metropolitan City Extraordinary Administrator Gavino Arru, "75% of our territory. This will unite the towns and reduce their isolation." €30.8 million is earmarked for "ad hoc projects," ranging from roadworks on the SP 60 "Buddi-Buddi" (formerly SS131) to the reconstruction of the bridge crossing the Rio Banzos on the SP41 bis. Worth noting, among other things, are the extraordinary maintenance work on the "Sassari-Ittiri" highway, as well as those near Tissi that will lead to the construction of a junction, right where the deaths have unfortunately occurred.

"There are too many deaths on our roads," Piu comments, "and this represents serious social and economic damage." In this sense, another high-risk area, which has claimed several victims over the years—the area between the Li Punti entrance and Via Domenico Millelire—will be involved in "rationalization and safety" works. "€29.2 million will be used," explains Gianni Milia, director of the Metropolitan City's Roads Department, "for routine maintenance. These will involve interventions on individual roads, asphalt, guardrails, and signage. They may seem minor, but they are essential for safety." Most of the works are already ready for construction, while others are in an advanced planning stage, with the first ones starting this fall. "In some cases, these are complex renovations," Milia continues, "and the completion times are medium to long. Completion is expected by the end of 2026-27." Councilor Piu concluded by mentioning two road modernization projects involving the reorganization of the road route from Cossoine to Bosa, and the one from Pattada to Ozieri.
