Four evenings dedicated to literature, the local area, young people, and social commitment. The first "Golfo Aranci Literature and Solidarity Festival," scheduled for September 5th to 8th on the town's seafront, will feature sixteen Sardinian and national authors, who will perform every evening from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM, livening up the event's debut, presented this morning in the City Council Chamber. This festival was born with a dual purpose: to promote culture and solidarity, thanks to a total contribution of €50,000 earmarked for non-profit sector projects supporting children and families in need in Ethiopia and Myanmar, and to foster critical thinking and the talent of the country's youth, with the launch of creative writing courses, scholarships, and prizes starting next winter. "We want to create something different from traditional musical, sporting, and recreational events: a high-profile cultural event that can take root over time and shape our community," explained Mayor Giuseppe Fasolino, presenting the event alongside Education and Health Minister Stefania Frau. Frau added, "This festival is the starting point of a broader project dedicated to our young people. From a meeting with the organizers, the idea arose to launch creative writing courses for local youth starting this winter, offering them a space for expression and personal growth." Also present at the presentation were writer and Festival creator Sebastiano Nata and Elisabetta D'Andrea, representing the organizing committee. Both emphasized the vision of culture as a vehicle for unity and sharing, and the importance of bringing together established authors, emerging talents, and concrete support for those most in need. A special focus will be placed on Sardinian and local authors, with the aim of creating a genuine connection between writers and the public and enhancing the local cultural heritage. The event begins on Saturday, September 5th, at 7:00 PM, with institutional greetings and the presentation of the Busajo project with Martino Montanarini and the Italia-Birmania Insieme association with Cecilia Brighi. This will be followed by meetings with Pier Paolo Di Mino, Marco Agostino Amucano, Sebastiano Nata, and Bibbiana Cau. On Sunday, September 6th, it will be the turn of Francesco Pala, Angelo Ferracuti, Franco Curreli, and Maria Laura Berlinguer, while on Monday, September 7th, Emanuele Trevi, Melania Muscas, Marcello Fois, and Elena Stancanelli will take the stage. The closing evening will be on Tuesday, September 8th, with Antonio Spadaro, Ciriaco Offeddu, Marco Lodoli, and Romana Petri. The official closing and institutional greetings will be delivered by the President of the City Council, Alessandra Feola.
