A few days after the serious incident that shook the community of Siurgus Donigala, with the intimidating attack on the home of a thirty-five-year-old under house arrest (injuring an acquaintance), the Carabinieri of Dolianova were engaged this morning in a large-scale operation to check sheepfolds, searching for weapons and explosives illegally held in the territories of Siurgus Donigala and the Sisini hamlet of Senorbì.

During the investigation, the Carabinieri discovered two homemade balaclavas and a 12-gauge buckshot shell hidden in the spare tire compartment of a car owned by a 38-year-old businessman from Siurgus Donigala. A hunting rifle, duly registered but stored in an unsuitable location and different from the declared location, was found in the home of a 37-year-old farmer living in Sisini. The weapon was seized as a precautionary measure.

Even more significant was the outcome of the search carried out inside the livestock farm of a sixty-three-year-old farmer from Goni, where the Carabinieri discovered, hidden between the stones of a dry stone wall, 85 illegally held .38 Special caliber cartridges, as well as the severed barrel of a double-barreled shotgun without a serial number , hidden near an adjacent embankment.

Further operations of this kind, the Carabinieri announced in a statement, will be intensified in the coming weeks to ensure greater security and protect the safety of local communities.
