Great condolences to Sinnai for the death of Franco Mattana, the king of cheese with dairies in Sulcis and in Sinnai where he was born and lived. He was 88 years old.

Franco Mattana was a gentleman entrepreneur, extraordinary, capable, honest, a great worker with the propensity to be close even to those in need . He died assisted by his wife Marcella.

With his entrepreneurial activity he has given work over time to hundreds of people, cheese makers, simple workers, technicians in the sector. It created economy not only with the art of cheese and wine, but also with the trade of almonds, grapes and wine. It exported its products all over Europe. His cheeses were of those that satisfied the most discerning palates.

An all-round entrepreneur, tireless, also capable of traveling every day from Sinnai to Perdaxius, where for many years he managed his last Sulcis dairy, becoming friends with everyone, especially with the farmers who delivered the milk to his dairy .

He recently closed his latest business in Sinnai in via Perra.

The funeral will take place tomorrow, Friday, at 4.30 pm in the parish of Santa Barbara, in Sinnai.
