A man caught hunting by the Sinnai Forestry Corps, after the hunting season ended on January 31, will have to answer to poaching charges.

The man was shooting birds in the Tasonis area when he was spotted, surrounded, and stopped as he was about to reach his car.
He is a pensioner living in Maracalagonis, reported to the Judicial Authorities.

The rifle, the ammunition and the shell casings he was in possession of were seized , validated by the public prosecutor.

During this period the Forestry Corps has intensified controls to protect the birdlife because thrushes and blackbirds are completing the accumulation of reserves for migration towards northern Europe.
