Another day of major emergency on the fire front in Sardinia. Especially in the south, and not just in Portoscuso, where several families were evacuated.

A large fire broke out in the early afternoon in the Sinnai countryside, in the San Gregorio area near the Vecchia Orientale highway . Two fires were identified in the small hamlet, where a Superpuma operating on Portoscuso was diverted. A helicopter from the Villasalto base, an Air Force helicopter stationed in Decimomannu, and two Canadairs also responded to the scene.

The flames quickly attacked several hectares of Mediterranean scrub, coming dangerously close to homes, so much so that some were evacuated and the religious complex Casa Monsignor Angioni is at risk, where the evacuation of the nuns and residents is being evaluated .

Other fires that required the dispatch of a helicopter broke out in the countryside of Uta (Is Stracoxiu) and San Vito (San Priamo).
