The flames licked the carriageway of the 131 DCN state road at kilometre 100, in the Oreo area, in the Siniscola area, requiring immediate emergency intervention and a temporary traffic interruption.
The fire broke out in the afternoon and, driven by wind and high temperatures, quickly spread through the vegetation near the road, causing concern among motorists. Firefighting teams and emergency vehicles responded to the scene to contain and extinguish the blaze.
A helicopter has also been deployed to support ground operations, dropping water on the affected area to prevent the flames from spreading further. Law enforcement officers are also on site, managing traffic and ensuring safety in the area. To allow rescuers to intervene, traffic has been temporarily blocked, causing inevitable delays and disruptions. The cause of the fire remains to be determined, while operations to extinguish and secure the area continue.
