A 27-year-old worker living in Siliqua and already known to law enforcement was arrested by the Carabinieri of the local station on charges of resisting a public official and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

According to reports, the man was stopped yesterday afternoon during a territorial patrol. Officers reportedly noticed him wandering suspiciously through the city center streets. Subjected to a personal and home search, the 27-year-old was found in possession of a block of hashish weighing approximately 100 grams, 22 cannabis seeds, and €1,000 in cash, presumably believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.

During the identification process, the young man allegedly reacted violently, striking one of the officers in the face. The immediate intervention of the other Carabinieri allowed him to be subdued and arrested.

After completing the formal procedures at the Siliqua barracks, the man was transferred to the holding cells of the Iglesias Carabinieri Company, pending the validation hearing scheduled for this morning.
